Preventing a double chin is an easy task if you arm yourself with knowledge and practice a few simple steps. Regular exercise and a healthy meal plan will reduce your body fat content, which is the ultimate preventative step. Many exercise routines incorporate neck and chin muscles that can help. There are also a few more specific stretches you can do. These exercises are easy and do not take a lot of time. The busiest person can easily fit these into a hectic day.

  1. Step 1

    Know that regular exercise and healthy eating are the best ways to lower your body fat and prevent a double chin, as well as maintain all-around better health.

  2. Step 2

    Perform a few simple exercises on your own to help prevent a double chin. Tilt your head, bringing your right ear to your shoulder, and hold this pose a few seconds. Return your head upright and repeat the same on the left side. You can do this two to three times per day.

  3. Step 3

    Sit upright and bring your chin down toward your chest, holding the stretch a few seconds. Return your head upright. Tilt your head, bringing your chin up until you feel a slight stretch. Hold this pose a few seconds and then lower your chin.

  4. Step 4

    Massage your chin and neck muscles daily. This will help in circulation and help your skin's appearance. You can add this step to your daily facial cleaning routine.
