This is a variation of the Nestle Toll House recipe, which is a wonderful basic chocolate chip cookie recipe. By making these "smores" cookies, you keep things interesting and provide a fun and tasty alternative to the norm.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl and set aside.

  3. Step 3

Beat together the butter and both types of sugar. When combined, add the vanilla and eggs and mix thoroughly.

  4. Step 4

Stir in the chocolate chips and crushed graham crackers, a small amount at a time.

  5. Step 5

Drop in rounded tablespoons onto a baking sheet. For thinner cookies, lightly press down the dough, spreading it out.

  6. Step 6

Lightly press three or four mini marshmallows into the top of each cookie--this keeps them from getting stuck to the bottom of the baking sheet.

  7. Step 7

Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges begin to brown. Removing the cookies before they have browned completely will result in your cookies staying softer for longer. Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is fine to have non-uniform graham cracker pieces. A mix of chunks and crumbs adds variety and character to the cookies.
