The plate joiner is commonly known as a biscuit joiner. This tool allows its user to join pieces of wood by inserting a “biscuit” into them. Coupled with the right amount of adhesive, the “biscuits” help keep the wood pieces together while the adhesive dries.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Plate joiner
  • Manufacturer adjustment tools (if needed)

    Adjustments

  1. Step 1

Lay the joiner on the table for easy access.

  2. Step 2

Locate the adjustment screws on the base plate.

  3. Step 3

Loosen the two screws for the height adjustment.

  4. Step 4

Adjust the plate up or down to the desired location.

  5. Step 5

Tighten the screws down and repeat steps 2 through 5 for the depth of the cut made by the blade.

Tips & Warnings
  • Fit all pieces together before gluing, to make certain the adjustments are correct.
  • If the tool smokes during the cut, sharpen the blade or replace it.
