Almost every woman knows the frustration of trying to untangle jewelry. Fortunately, it can be done, however, it isn't always quick and easy. Here are some tips to help you sort it out.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging

Things You’ll Need:

  • Toothpicks
  • Baby oil
  • Cotton swabs

Step1
Spread it out. Take your tangled jewelry and spread it out on a flat surface. Do not try to untangle while holding items in your hands. You don't want gravity working against you!
Step2
Take one piece at a time. Find one piece and concentrate on that one item only. Find that one pendant, chain or string and follow it through, focusing on nothing else.
Step3
Use baby oil. Add a small bit of baby oil to chains with a cotton swab. This can often loosen a really tangled knot.
Step4
Try toothpicks. For really tangled knots, try wooden toothpicks. Toothpick ends can often reach where fingers can't.
Step5
Patience. Most of all, be patient. It will be worth it when you are finished.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always hang necklaces and bracelets on jewelry hangars. Leave about 1/4 inch between them. Never lay them together in a drawer.
