How to Substitute Cleaning Products
-
1
Remove dust from tables, shelves, chairs and desks with an unused fabric softener sheet.
-
2
Apply lemon juice and a dab of powdered laundry soap to any stain before laundering as a substitute for bleach. It will lift stains from any fabric that can normally withstand bleach. If you don't have lemon juice in the house, use 3 percent hydrogen peroxide instead.

Remove baked-on spots in the oven without an oven cleaner spray. You can substitute oven cleaner spray with ammonia. Pour 1 cup of ammonia into a glass bowl. Place the bowl into your oven (make sure the oven is off) and let it sit overnight. The fumes from the ammonia will soften baked-on spots. You can wipe the spots away with a sponge the next morning.

Crumple aluminum foil into a ball and scrape the foil along the grids to clean the grids of an oven or grill without a brush.
