How to Make a Crocheted Purse
-
1
Tie a knot in yarn end and insert hook tip.
-
2
Hold your hook in your right hand (or left if you are left-handed), and insert hook into knot.
-
-
3
Grab the yarn into the hook and pull it through the knot. Pull yarn through the hook for 50 stitches. then turn around and make 2 more stitches. One stitch should be on the hook.
-
4
Take the yarn with hook again (to make two loops on the hook) and pull it through the 2 loops. You have made a double crochet stitch. Repeat this process for the 49 stitches remaining.
-
5
Continue to do this for 60 rows (making a purse). The number of rows determine the width of the purse because the more stitches the wider the purse.
-
6
Fold the stitches lengthwise. Fold purse one third of the way up and crochet stitch up both sides. You have created your first basic purse; so use your own imagination to create how you would like the end result to be. For instance, add beads, silk flowers, or other finishing items to decorate it with.
