How to Make Paper Snowmen
Making paper snowmen is a simple and fun activity for elementary school children--great for an in-class art project or a snow day at home. Imaginations are free to wander and cleanup is minimal.
Things You'll Need
- Thick white paper (posterboard works best)
- Colored construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Crayons, colored pencils or markers
- Circular stencils
- Paper towel tube

How to Make Paper Snowmen

Draw or trace a large circle, a medium circle and a small circle on white paper. Cut them out.

Lay the medium circle so that its bottom overlaps a bit with the large circle's top; glue together the overlapping section. Lay the small circle so that its bottom overlaps a bit with the medium circle's top; glue together the overlapping section.

Draw arms, a nose and decorations (i.e., hats, mittens, scarfs, buttons) on colored construction paper. Cut them out and glue them where they belong.

Use crayons, markers or colored pencils to add eyes and a mouth. Add stripes, polka dots and other patterns to the decorations.

Glue a paper towel tube stand to the back of the snowman.

Tips & Warnings
Glue sticks tend to be less messy and create less crinkles in paper than glue from a jar or bottle.
Never let young children cut unless they are using safety scissors.
