    A Tasty Veggie Casserole

  1. Step 1

Select your ingredients. Your vegetable layer can be one or any combination of your favorite vegetables. You will need a little liquid to avoid burning the bottom layer. Choose milk, vegetable bouillon, or a creamed soup such as mushroom, celery, or potato. Your cheese layer can be one or a combination of cheeses. American,Cheddar, Colby, Mozzarella, Jack, or Parmesan all work very well. The bread layer can be any type of crackers, bread, dry stuffing mix, or pasta.

  2. Step 2

Prepare your ingredients. Vegetables should be pre-cooked and chopped if large. Cheese can be sliced, chunked, or grated. Crackers and bread if used should be dry and broken up into small pieces. If you use pasta, pre-cook it. Any pasta can be used. If you are using milk or vegetable bouillon cover the bottom of the casserole dish with the liquid. If you choose to use a creamed soup, toss it gently with the veggies and salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Step 3

Layer your casserole by first putting in a layer of the veggies. The second layer will be the cheese, and the third layer the pasta, bread, stuffing, or crackers. Repeat all three layers and top with cheese.

  4. Step 4

Bake in a 350 degree oven. Since the veggies and pasta, if used, is already cooked, you only need to bake the casserole until the cheese melts and the casserole is hot. You can tell it's done when the top layer is browned and the casserole is steaming and beginning to bubble.

  5. Step 5

Let it sit for a couple minutes, then serve and enjoy!
