Things You'll Need:
- Basket
- Gift(s)
- Red tissue paper
- Red craft paper
- Cellophane
- Clear tape
- Red ribbon
- Valentine's Day card
-
Step 1
Decide what to include in your Valentine's Day gift basket so that it is filled with content unique to the recipient's tastes. For example, if the recipient loves books, base the basket on a book theme. If the recipient is an avid fisher, select gifts that will come in handy on his next big fishing trip. The point is to show the recipient that you pay attention to their interests--a gift that makes all others pale in comparison.
-
Step 2
Select a basket. Any basket will work, as long as it is large enough to accommodate the contents you have chosen. There are many baskets designed to complement Valentine's Day decor, but you might prefer to choose a basket that can be reused somewhere in the recipient's home.
-
Step 3
Fill your Valentine's Day gift basket. Line the inside of the basket with red tissue paper. Take the time to carefully arrange the contents of your basket. You want the basket's appearance to reflect the same thought and care that went into the gift itself.
-
Step 4
Cut hearts from the red craft paper in a variety of shapes and sizes. Tuck the hearts among the contents of the basket. You can even write Valentine messages on the hearts if you want to add an extra special touch.
-
Step 5
Wrap the entire basket and all of its contents in cellophane. Secure the ends of the cellophane at the bottom of the basket with clear tape.
-
Step 6
Attach a Valentine's Day card to the basket and decorate the basket with red ribbon. Your Valentine's Day gift basket is ready for sharing.
