Things You'll Need:
- No tools or special equipment are needed
-
Step 1
Generally speaking you only want the height of your blade to be approximately 1/8th of an inch more than the thickness of the material you are cutting. Any more than this and you risk scorching the edges of your material or causing excess splintering or other damage. To adjust the height of your blade simply locate the round wheel on the front of your table saw; turning this wheel clockwise raises the blade and turning it counter clockwise lowers the blade.
-
Step 2
Hold a piece of the material you are cutting up against the blade and rotate the wheel until the blade is approximately 1/8th of an inch higher than the material you are cutting. Release the wheel; no locking of the wheel is required.
-
Step 3
The blade on a table saw can be angled to cut material at any angle desired, from a straight 90 degree cut all the way to a 45 degree angle. On the front of the saw will be a knob that when turned counter clockwise will allow you to slide it along an angle guide that is marked from 90 to 45. Simply set the marker to the exact angle you desire and then turn the knob clockwise to lock it in place. You will note that the blade of your saw is now set at the angle you have chosen in relationship to the flat surface of your saw table.

Step 4
Follow all of the table saw manufacturer's safety instructions.
