Cleaning out your fridge is the first step in starting the journey to a slimmer waist on the Dr. Oz's "You on a Diet" plan. Dr. Oz's diet plan focuses not on the numbers on the scale, but on slimming your waist size. Although it may be difficult to part with your favorite foods, you must learn what foods can be in your fridge and what foods must be thrown away.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Read all nutrition facts and labels in your fridge. Throw out any items of food that contain "high fructose corn syrup" and anything that contains the words "hydrogenated" and "trans-fats". High fructose corn syrup is usually found in sodas, deserts, and many sugary things. Hydrogenated and trans-fats items are likely to be found in red meats and many cheeses. According to Dr. Oz, you should not be have these food items in your diet or stored in the fridge.

  2. Step 2

Throw away foods that are too processed and that contain too much sugar, like white breads, muffins, cookies, etc. These items also contain complex carbohydrates that are broken down into more sugar, which is not healthy for you since sugar that is not used gets stored as fat in your body.

  3. Step 3

Replace the foods above with whole grains, fruits and vegetables. Organic fruits and vegetables are perfered since they are free of pesticides or harmful chemicals to your body.
