According to TV personality and doctor, Dr. Oz, the smaller the waist, the better the shape and health one is in. Therefore, the point of Dr. Oz's "You on a diet", is aimed to decrease the thickness of the waist, instead of the numbers that are seen on the scale. Obtaining the ideal waist may be difficult, but with hard work, a right diet and persistence, Dr. Oz guarantees a healthier you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Throw away all highly processed foods or foods that contain the words "high fructose corn syrup", "trans fats" and "hydrogenated oils" in your fridge and pantry. Replace these items with whole grains, fruits, vegetables and lean proteins, like fish and lean cuts of poultry.

  2. Step 2

Take a 30 minute brisk walk every day. No excuses. This will help you to shed pounds and lose excess stomach fat, contributing to your high waist line.

  3. Step 3

Don't eat, unless you are hungry. And a helpful trick is to eat on a 9 inch plate. This will decrease food intake in one sitting.

  4. Step 4

Aim to cut 100 calories a day. Eating fewer calories will help you to shed a pound in a month. 100 calories is really the equivalent to eating one less slice of bread.

  5. Step 5

Eat desert every other day. Don't deprive yourself of the sweet goodness, it will only lead to binging later on your diet. However, this is not really a diet, more of a change of your eating lifestyle.
