Instructions

    • 1

Lay down on the mat or towel with your back flat against the floor and your belly button pressing down to your spine. Place your hands flat on the floor to support your weight.

    • 2

Bring your knees into your chest and extend your legs straight up in the air, with your toes pointed towards the sky. Your back and spine should form a 90 degree angle.

    • 3

Slowly bring your legs higher until they are above your head and lift your spine off the ground. Place your hands against your lower back to provide some additional support when doing this movement.

    • 4

Move your left leg towards your head while moving your right leg down towards the ground. Your legs will resemble a pair of scissors.

    • 5

Inhale and exhale as you move your right leg towards your head and your left leg towards the ground. Continue this motion until you reach a count of 10.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try doing this position on your side to better work the legs. Roll onto one side, lift your legs off the ground slightly, and kick in either direction.

  • Be careful not to extend your leg too far towards the ground. This puts too much pressure on your lower back and abs.
