This article will show you how to control the volume of a Hammond organ. The volume can be a useful tool to create a vibrato effect or swell a thick chord.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Control the volume of a Hammond organ in one of two ways: a master volume switch located at the top left corner of the keyboard, or with the volume control bar, controlled with your right knee.

  2. Step 2

Change the overall volume level of the organ with the master volume switch, located at the top left of the keyboard. This can be set to normal or soft.

  3. Step 3

Use the volume control bar located underneath the keyboard, just to the right of where a player's right knee would sit. By pushing the bar to the right, the volume increases. The bar automatically returns itself to its position to the left when there is no pressure against it. By pulsating your right knee back and forth, a tremolo effect can be achieved.
