Step 1
Gather your supplies. If you don't already have a scrapbook started, this is a great time to make one. You can buy a kit from the store, these come with pages and decorations, or you can make your own. To make an easy scrapbook all you need to do is find a three ring binder and some paper that fits it. You can use white paper and decorate it, or buy scrapbook paper from the store. You'll also need paint, acrylic paint works the best, paintbrushes, water to rinse your brushes, and your choice of stickers and other scrapbook decorations. Confetti great for adding some sparkle to your pages.

Step 2
If you're using paint, you'll want to start with that. Tape or glue your pictures down as well as any store bought decorations that you're using. I like to use paper borders around my pictures because they're cheap and they make the pictures look more attractive. Once you have the pictures the way you want them, you can add a background and border to your page with paint. You don't need to be very artistic for this. A quick way to decorate is to make some kind of design around the edges of the paper with paint. If the theme of your page is the beach, for example, you could paint blue waves around the edges. Then, pick two or three colors that match your border, such as green, blue, and yellow, and make dots of different sizes all over the paper. Make sure not to get any paint on your pictures. Then, after you're satisfied, let the paint dry and cut around the outside edges of your border, in this case the waves. Now your page isn't just a plain rectangle anymore. It'll draw the viewer's eye in. Try using colored paper instead of plain white paper as well.

Step 3
You can also use stencils or stamps with paint. Stamps are my favorite because they look nice and create different textures. To use a stencil, tape or hold the stencil on the paper, and paint over top of it. Make sure you hold the stencil firmly to the page, or paint can run underneath it and smear. If you want to add texture, take a crumpled up paper towel and blot it over the stencil. You can switch between colors for a more 3D affect. Just make sure to cover enough of the stencil so you can tell what it's a picture of. This idea works great on plain colored paper with no background design. Stamps can be done much the same way. Paint the stamp and press it into the paper. Be careful not to press too hard or it will slide. You can use the paper towel trick here as well, just dab parts of the stamp with the paper towel to make the paint rough looking. Finally, for some added pop, after the paint has dried, outline the shape with a single line of paint.

Step 4
After you're done painting, you can move on to stickers. Stickers are so easy to work with, and you don't need any artistic ability at all to use them. There are lots to choose from, so you're sure to find some that fit in with your particular theme. Stickers can be used in a number of way.To create borders around your photos, use the same color sticker, colored circles or other geometrics shapes work best, and outline your picture with them. If you don't mind them touching your photo you can use them to hold your photo down instead of gluing it. You can also add stickers to the corners of your photo or photo border.Another great way to use stickers is to use words that express your feelings about particular pictures. Plenty of stickers feature different words. A great example is the use of the words "Forever" and "True Love" on a page featuring pictures of an anniversary.
