How to Choose Fake Facial Hair for Costumes

Dressing up in costume can be great fun for holiday parties, Halloween celebrations, theatrical events, and even every day. You can especially disguise your image with fake hair pieces and fake facial hair. Here are some ideas for those costumes that may require some facial hair.

  1. Step 1

    Chose your costume and decide what kind of facial hair you will need. For example, if you are dressing up for the holidays, you may dress as Santa Claus and need a white beard. If you are dressing as a detective or a chef for Halloween, you may want a long black mustache. A rock star or Elvis costume may need some cool sideburns. If you are dressing up in a sexy woman’s costume, you may want some extra long eye lashes.

    Go online and search for what you are looking for. You will you find great pictures and get a better idea of what you’ll need. You may also find online stores and be able to purchase the facial hair online.

  3. Step 3

    Go to your local costume store, Halloween store, or super store. You can find all kinds of amazing kinds of fake facial hair. Read the box and make sure you understand how to apply the hair.

  4. Step 4

    Buy the glue. Be sure the read the instructions of your facial hair and figure out whether it comes with an adhesive or if you’ll need to buy some separately. The workers at the costume store will surely help you find the proper facial glue that you’ll need to apply your fake facial hair.

  5. Step 5

    Just pencil it in. An easy and effective trick for those who don’t want adhesives on their faces, is to use an eyeliner pencil or paint crayon instead. You can find either of these at your local drug store. You can just draw a mustache, sideburns, or thick eyebrows onto your face. Later, just wash it off!

  • Make sure your adhesive facial hair is stuck on well. The last thing you’ll want to break your cover is for your beard to fall off mid-party!
