Take a bag of sand and pour some over the black ice.

If no more ice forms as the day goes by, it should still be safe to walk on in the morning.

If more ice forms, continue adding sand to keep the black ice from becoming slick again.

Be careful not to fall on the black ice while applying sand.
Always test the ice before you step on it, even if you think it is no longer slick.
