How to Make BBQ Mop Sauce

Mop sauce goes great with burgers

The name for this sauce comes from its use: you "mop" up your bread and other fixin's with the easy-to-prepare sauce. This uses strong coffee as an ingredient, but you can't taste it in the final result.

Things You'll Need

• 1/2 cup canned tomato sauce
• 1 cup strong black coffee
• 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tbsp. sugar
• 1/2 cup butter or margarine

Instructions

1. In heavy saucepan, combine all ingredients over medium high heat.

2. Bring just to a boil, then lower heat and simmer gently just until butter is melted.

3. Remove from heat, let stand, and brush on burgers, ribs, chicken or steak as a barbecue sauce.

4. Pour extra sauce into a cruet and serve as a dipping sauce.

5. This can also be used as a marinade for steaks, ribs, chicken and chops.
