Window cleaning wands, also known as "squeegees," can be a great tool to achieve those crystal-clear, clean windows. You can use a window cleaning wand to save time and labor, and to reduce streaks.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Window cleaning wand
  • Window cleaning solution
  • Towels (shammy, terrycloth, linen, or scrub)
  1. Step 1

Spread the window cleaning solution across the window you're washing. If the window has panes, do one pane at a time.

  2. Step 2

Hold the window cleaning wand with the rubber blade toward the window, and start on the left. Carefully pull the wand down until you reach the bottom of the pane.

  3. Step 3

Wipe the excess water off the wand's rubber blade after the wipe.

  4. Step 4

Repeat the wipes from left to right until the area is clean.

  5. Step 5

Take a window cleaning towel and carefully remove the excess water along the edges and bottom of the pane. Be careful not to leave streaks.

  6. Step 6

Repeat until all windows are clean.

Tips & Warnings
  • If the window has stains, gently rub with a wet towel to loosen the stain before using the wand.
  • Clean the windows twice for stubborn overall staining.
  • For hard-to-reach stains or difficult windows, call a professional window-cleaning company.
  • If you are using a ladder to reach high windows, take proper safety precautions.
