Depending on what kind of dish you are making, sometimes the cucumber seed is an unwanted ingredient. Here's how to get rid of the seeds without wasting any of the cucumber.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sturdy peeling or paring knife
  • Cutting surface
  1. Step 1

Wash cucumber thoroughly. Depending on which way you are using the cucumber, peel it or keep the skin on; it's up to you and your recipe.

  2. Step 2

Place your knife lengthwise against the cucumber and cut in a downward motion. This should leave you with two equal halves.

  3. Step 3

Place your two equal halves seed part down on the table or cutting surface. Then, using the same lengthwise cutting motion, cut the two halves. You should now have four equal cut cucumbers.

  4. Step 4

Pick up one of the cucumber pieces and rinse off in the sink. Then, taking your knife, start at the top of the cucumber and slice in a downward motion gently slicing off the seeds. This should come off in one long peice. Be cautious to cut as little of the actual cucumber as possible.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Step 4 until all cucumbers are cored, and then use in your favorite dish and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure all areas are cleaned and disinfected before and after preparing foods.
  • Knifes are very sharp; use caution whenever you are using them.
