1
Create a loom that is big enough to make the width of your purse. In this project we are using an 8 ½ x 11-inch piece of heavy cardstock. Make small cuts that are in depth of 3 inches and ¼ of an inch spaced across the top and bottom of the cardstock.

2
Take a piece of 8 ½ x 11-inch piece of paper and fold it to become a sample of the purse. Transfer those lines to your card stock in dark black lines. This will help if you want to add any designs to this simple purse.

3
Tape 3 pieces of dowels that are 8 ½ inches in lengths to the back top, back middle, and back bottom of the card stock. This will add stability to you loom.
-
4
Take the yarn of your choice and wrap the yarn over the front, through the top slit and around the back through the bottom slit. This is the wraps of your loom.
-
5
Take your working yarn and wrap some of it onto your shuttle. If you don’t have a shuttle, simple make one by using card stock and cutting it into a 4 x 2 inch with “U” shape ends.
-
6
Start weaving. In this project we will use the under/over method. You can weave 3 inches with one color on your shuttle and then change to a different color.

7
Simple-cut the wrapped sticks in the back. Cut in the middle of those strips. Secure a knot at the end, by the woven section for each string. Then simple-fold over the strings to the inside of the piece and whip stitch or machine stitch them down. Do this on both ends. Fold your purse and secure the sides. Add a snap or a great button with a decorate loop.
