How to Uninstall a Standard Driver

Following these step-by-step instructions will allow you to uninstall a standard driver.

      Double click on "My Computer." This is usually on your desktop. If it is not, click once on the "Start" menu, look for "My Computer" and click once on it.

      Click once on your local disk. The disk will have a letter next to it, and usually looks like this: "Local Disk (C:)."

      Right click on "Local Disk." Go to "Properties" and click once on it.

      Click once on the “Hardware" tab in the “Properties" dialog box.

      Click once on the drive that has “Disk drives” under “Type.”

      Click once on “Properties” at the bottom right of the “Hardware" tab.

      Click on the “Driver" tab in the “Properties" dialog box and click “Uninstall.”

      A warning will pop up letting you know that you are about to uninstall the device from your system. Click "OK" to uninstall the device and "Cancel" if you do not want to uninstall the standard driver.
