    Heavy-duty shredder

Be sure to get a heavy duty shredder. This means that it can easily shred credit cards and CDs.

  2. Step 2

Old or new, clean your shredder very well. This is important to remove dust, ink residue, or bits of paper. Otherwise, these debris will end up in your pasta dough.

  3. Step 3

If the shredder has a catch bin below it, you will have to remove it. You will need the room to work with your pasta as it exits the shredder. If the shredder was supported by the catch bin, simply prop it up with something else such as cans, jars, or books.

  4. Step 4

Next, use duct tape to disable the receptacle sensor. Otherwise, the shredder will not work unless it is attached to the catch bin.

  5. Step 5

Now, turn the machine on. As the shredder operates, carefully coat the blades with non-stick cooking oil.

  6. Step 6

Run your pasta dough through the shredder. Your sheet of dough should be fairly thin and be sure that it is no wider than the paper feed. Catch and arrange the noddles and they come out of the shredder to prevent them from sticking together or tangling.

Tips & Warnings
  • This also works well for shredding cabbage.
  • Be sure not to use a high-security style shredder. This does not cut strips, it actually cuts paper into little bits.
  • Do not get any cleaning liquid or oil into the motor housing.
