How to Warm Up for Pre-Natal Yoga

  1. Step 1

First you want to prepare your space for your prenatal yoga routine. You want to make sure your space is free of clutter and outside distractions.

  2. Step 2

The next step is to make sure that you have all of the items that you need to perform your prenatal yoga routine. You will want to make sure you have your mat on a flat floor. If you are using any props such as a wool blanket, pillows, towels, or yoga blocks place them near your yoga mat. Dim the lights to set a relaxing atmosphere.

  3. Step 3

It is now time to warm up. Lay down on your mat and place a rolled up towel underneath the small of your back. Make sure you are comfortable. Bend your legs with your feet shoulder width apart. Make sure that you are completely comfortable. If you need additional pillows or props use them.

  4. Step 4

Place your hands on your expanding stomach. Relax and close your eyes. Now breathe in and out slowly. Take this time to relax your mind and body. Meditate on your growing baby and the joy that lies ahead. Do this for five minutes to clear your head and prepare for your yoga routine.
