  1. Step 1

    Decide where on your body you would like the tattoo

  2. Step 2

    Decide what size you want the tattoo to be.

  3. Step 3

    Consider the type of image you would like. Popular firefighter tattoos include: animals (dalmation, bulldog, dragon, skull); symbols (EMS, IAFF. cross of St. Florian), cartoon characters, memorials to those lost, and naked ladies

  4. Step 4

    Research as many different versions of your chosen image type. Books, magazines and the internet are all great resources.

  5. Step 5

    Either with a specific image, or with a specific idea, go to a tattoo parlor.

  6. Step 6

    Show or explain your tattoo to the tattoo artist and let him or her do the rest.
