Know your skills, and be confident when applying them to your position, never be afraid to ask for help, and always offer to help others. Learn new skills as work and apply them to further your options.
Step2
Always be on time to work, in fact try to be at least a few minutes early everyday. Leave on time so do not appear to be trying to get overtime, but if you are behind on work ask if it is OK to work later, making sure you appear to really want to make this extra effort to get things done.
Step3
Always complete tasks as quickly as you can do so without making mistakes, and always double-check your work. Sometimes it helps to do something else after completing an assignment and then return to it to check it over. Fresh eyes will catch mistakes that you would not have noticed if you checked your work immediately after completing it.
Step4
Ask about taking on new assignments and increase your knowledge of the company you work for. Make sure you are in a position to do so before you ask so that you can dedicate your attention to the new task at hand. You want to make sure that any extra work you take on will be done in an timely manner, but most importantly it must be done exactly how the person who requested asked for it. If you have suggestions to make something better, first complete it then while you show it to the person who gave it to you make subtle suggestions when appropriate.
Step5
Limit personal calls and only use cell phones on breaks. You want to always have your mind on the task you trying to complete. You want to always be professional and let your employer know that when you are at work, work is the only thing that you have your mind on.
