Step 1
Learn a few basic breakdancing moves such as the hand glide, the six-step, the windmill and the swipe to create a routine. Constant practice is the only way to perfect them.
-
Step 2
The hand glide is a beginner step that can be used in more complex moves. Position your body on the floor with hands and knees on the ground (crawling position). Elbows should be at your hips. Use your right hand for balance and your left hand to push off the ground to begin your spin. This move will take some practice as the goal is to perform several spins at once. Once you perfect this move, you should be able to spin with only your hands touching the floor.

Step 3
The six-step is another basic move that will help you create a routine. Start in a squatting position. Don't let your butt touch the floor; maintain balance on your hands and feet. Swing your left leg so your right knee is positioned next to your left ankle and lift your right hand. Your left leg should go straight back. Move your right leg back as if you were going to do a push-up. Spread your legs out a little wider than usual. Raise your right hand and move your left leg into the right hand's place. Move your right leg into the crook of the left knee. Your right kneecap should align with the back of your left knee. Move your left knee back into the squatting position.
-
Step 4
The windmill is a difficult move to learn, but many breakdancers make it part of their routine, so it's worth learning. Start in a crawl position. Bring both legs up over your body so you are standing on your hands. Make sure your legs are straight as you roll on your left side to into a spin. You should end up on your back in a spinning motion. Roll to your front side and support your weight with your left hand and right shoulder. Roll onto your back and swing your legs. Alternate between your back and front to create a windmill effect.

Step 5
The swipe is another move that you can use often during your routine. Begin in a crab position (arms and legs behind you, your back should be flat, not rounded). Throw your left arm to the other side of your body and then twist to unwrap your legs. You should end up back into a crab position.
