1
Get a job. This is a good option. If you can manage a part-time or even a full-time job, that is money you can save and use during the year.
-
2
Find an internship. This is a great way to get your foot into the door for your future career. Many employers want people with experience and this is one of the best ways to get it. Also, taking an internship during the summer will allow for more time to focus and do well on the internship.

3
Take classes. The campus is not as full during the summer and the classes will, most likely, be smaller. You can take a few classes to either get ahead or make up, if needed.
-
4
Consider summer programs. Some colleges will have summer programs that can supplement what you have learned. This is a good opportunity to closely interact with your fellow students and faculty members. These are normally different from classes because they're interactive and have practical activities.
-
5
Travel. Although this doesn't exactly help you with your future career, it is a good experience. This can help you grow as an individual.
-
6
Study abroad. This combines the option of traveling and taking classes. Also, it is one of the greatest opportunities that a college student can experience.
-
7
Research. If you prefer to have a quiet summer, then try learning more about opportunities you can partake in the next summer. Try finding scholarships and grands that can help you during the year.
-
8
Start a project . You have been learning a lot in your career field. Try putting it to use. Get some individual work started. If you're a writer, try writing a short story or novel. If you're a computer programmer, try developing a new program. It doesn't have to be a lot, just keep your skills sharp and active.
