How to Stack Dominoes

Stacking dominoes is something you can do to play an amusing game on your own. In order to win, you need to play all the dominoes in the deck, and they need to be matched to one of the eight ends of the tableau. Here are the steps to stacking!

Instructions

    • 1

Pick 4 tiles from the deck. They should be chosen randomly, not based upon the specifics of the tile.

    • 2

Place the chosen tiles face-up in a row in front of you. They should be placed straight across so they all face you in a row.

    • 3

Draw a tile from the deck at random.

    • 4

Make a play by matching one end of the tile you just picked to one it matches in your original stack of 4 tiles.

    • 5

Continue making the same kind of plays, one at a time. You should pick a tile, match it to one of its exact ends, and then pick another.

    • 6

If there comes a time when no matches can be made from the tiles, then you lose! If you succeed at playing all 28 dominoes, then you win!

Tips & Warnings

  • To make the game harder to win, try starting with only 3 dominoes.

  • If you want an easier game, start with more dominoes. This is great for kids.

  • Make the moves on your stack slowly to avoid sabotage or mistakes.

  • Try to keep the moves open-ended so that you have the most choices for other dominoes.
