Instructions

  1. How to Increase Shower Water Pressure

    • 1

Remove the screws that secure your shower head and check the screen for any obstruction. Simply rub the screen with your finger under water to remove any residue. Once you are finished, reinstall the shower head.

    • 2

Alter your schedule. Most of us know that we shouldn't take a shower at the same time as someone else in our house. Did you know, however, that an entire neighborhood could affect your water pressure? Change your schedule and shower during non-peak hours. This slight adjustment could help tremendously.

    • 3

Remove your shower head flow restrictor. Almost all shower heads come equipped with flow restrictives. Although you waste a lot of water when these restrictives are removed, it can greatly increase your water pressure.

    • 4

Purchase a shower head made for a lower flow. If the same amount of water is forced to travel through a space designed for less, the pressure will increase.

    • 5

Shut off all the water taps in your home. Then, check your water meter. Leave for a few hours. When you come home, read the meter again. If you see that the meter has climbed, you have a leak. Leaks can decrease shower water pressure. If this is happening in your house, you will need to call a plumber to fix the problem. This is your last resort.

Tips & Warnings

  • Remember to shut off any ice machines if you are checking for water leaks.

  • Higher water pressure can force you to waste much more water than you normally would.

"Remove your shower head flow restrictor." -Could you possibly give any indication of what this could possibly look like, or any sort of description whatsoever? If I knew what this was, or what this looked like, I would have done it instead of Google searching for answers. Your other 4 suggestions are terrible, that's basic common sense.
