Why use different measuring cups when you can use one for all your measuring needs? Pyrex and other companies make beautiful measuring cups that allow cooks to measure a variety of ingredients without having to rely on individual cups that can get lost or be cumbersome (if they're on a ring).

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • All-in-one measuring cup.
  • Ingredients

    Begin with the Dry

  1. Step 1

All-in-one measuring cups will either have lines (on the outside) or bumps (on the inside) to indicate the measurements available. One side of the cup should have lines to indicate "cups" and the other side should have lines to indicate "ounces" or sometimes "liters."

  2. Step 2

Look at your recipe to determine which measurement system it uses. Then, figure out which of the ingredients will require the use of the measuring cup (instead of measuring spoons, for example).

  3. Step 3

Pour the ingredients into the cup until you are at or just below the line marking the measurement you desire. For example, if you want 1/2 of a cup, fill to the 1/2 cup line.

  4. Step 4

Pour your ingredients into a mixing bowl and then proceed to measuring the next ingredient.

  5. Step 5

You can also measure all the ingredients at the same time in the cup if you only have a few of them. For example: if your recipe calls for 1/4 cup milk and 1/2 cup water, you know you need to fill to the 3/4 cup line once you've added all the ingredients, because 1/4 + 1/2 = 3/4.
