How to Do a Staff Yoga Headstand

Here you will find the directions to quickly and accurately do a staff yoga headstand.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Make a tripod, measure off and place a spot on your head. Tuck your toes and slowly straighten your legs. Don't stress your leg or shoulders.

  2. Step 2

    Tuck your toes and slowly straighten your legs.

  3. Step 3

    Walk until your spine is nice and straight.

  4. Step 4

    Life yourself into a traditional headstand.

  5. Step 5

    Come into staff by lowering down, engaging your core muscles. Pull into your core.

  6. Step 6

    When you are in an "L" shape, hold position.

  7. Step 7

    Flex your feet.

  8. Step 8

    Pull your legs slowly up, keeping them straight until you are once again in the traditional headstand position.

  9. Step 9

    Hold in position.

  10. Step 10

    Slowly bring your legs down and follow by a relaxing yoga position, such as balasana or savasana.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pay attention to your form. You don't want to stretch your muscles.
  • Remember to breathe deeply.
  • Relax as much as you can. Yoga can be a deeply spiritual experience as well as a physical one.
  • Consult with your doctor before beginning any exercise regiment.
  • Don't try practicing yoga until you know you have the form correct to avoid any accident or injury.
