Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Playing cards
  • Low sided catching receptacle (a hat works well)
  • Chair

The Frisbee Throw Is The Easiest Way To Throw Playing Cards

  1. Step 1

Place the catching receptacle a few feet away on the floor. Sit down in the chair.

  2. Step 2

Hold the playing card between first and second fingers of your throwing hand, not firm, but not loose. Cross the hand in front of your body and whip it out and forward toward the target, like a Frisbee.

  3. Step 3

The trick is to get the timing of the release and the speed for throwing the playing card accurately.

  4. The Underhanded Snap Is More Difficult

  5. Step 1

Place the catching receptacle a few feet away on the floor. Sit down in the chair. Hold the playing card by opposite corners between your thumb and middle finger.

  6. Step 2

Hold the card in front of you and squeeze your finger and thumb together so the card bends until it flies forward toward the target. Brand new playing cards work better for this method as they have more spring than old cards.

  7. Step 3

The key is all in muscle memory with this style; remember how much pressure it takes to get throw the playing cards into the target.

  8. The Over Hand Method Is The Most Difficult

  9. Step 1

Place the catching receptacle a few feet away on the floor. Sit down in the chair. Hold your card throwing hand like you are going to snap your fingers.

  10. Step 2

Place the playing card between the finger and thumb to be snapped. Hold the throwing hand in front of your eye to aim, slightly tilted back toward your face, for the angle. When ready, snap your fingers and the card should flip out of your hand toward the target.

  11. Step 3

This technique takes a lot of practice and patience, try it with something heavier first like a penny.

Tips & Warnings
  • When you get good at throwing playing cards you can learn tricks and how to aim at smaller objects. This is a great game for small bars and taverns.
