Many types of arthritis are autoimmune disorders are conditions in which the body literally fights itself and causes disease. You can help treat autoimmune disorders through diet.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Most fried foods are coated with flour. Flour is made from wheat. Arthritis pain can be greatly reduced by avoiding wheat products. If you must, fry foods coated with corn meal.
Step2
To satisfy your carbohydrate cravings, eat whole grains such as quinoa, buckwheat, brown rice and millet.
Step3
Step up your intake of fruits and vegetables. Plan your main meals around vegetables. Eat about 80% vegetables, fruits, grains and 20% protein.
Step4
Eat healthy fats. Use olive oil, avocado oil or coconut oil for cooking. Avoid fried foods, or as stated above, coat in corn meal and fry in olive oil.
Step5
Eat fish. Broiled fish is delicious with a bit of butter and lemon. Fish contains omega-3 and if eaten at least once a week can improve your overall health.
Step6
Drink plenty of water. Water can help curb cravings, even for fried foods!

Tips & Warnings

  • You may want to go "cold turkey" on the fried foods. After about a week on a healthier diet, you will find that not only will you start feeling better, but your body will actually begin to crave the healthier foods and you'll have forgotten all about the not-so-good-for-you fried stuff.
