How to Make Origami Snowflakes

Origamis is a beautiful form of art that can liven up any party or celebration. Traditionally, origami tends to be quite hard to master. However, one of the more popular and easy way to start up with the art of origami is creating origami snowflakes. Creating origami snowflakes is a beautiful and easy task for all ages to begin with.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Firstly take a piece of paper and fold the paper making sure it is evenly folded. Fold it again. Repeating this four times, you should have a small 4x8 square in the end.

  2. Step 2

    Take your scissors, making sure they are fully sharpened. In the middle of the folded part of the paper cut a small shape. This could be triangles, circles , zig zags or any other shape. Make two more shapes two inches apart. Do not cut shapes on the edge of part of the folded paper.

  3. Step 3

    Cut shapes on the outer corners, starting from middle and spreading out. Mainly do triangles and " cuts" which is when you simply cut a line.

  4. Step 4

    Carefully unfold the snowflake. The paper will slowly show the repetitive pattern. Repeat this procedure with various snowflakes.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to avoid elaborate designs , the simpler ones work best.
  • Try to have a small scissors to allow you more dexterity when you cut.
  • When you finish you can decorate the snowflake with glitter.
  • Do not cut the inner edge of the snowflake, this will break the snowflake completely.
