Things You'll Need:
- Vegetables
- Pen and paper

Step 1
Monitor what you currently eat. The first place to start with helping your health and reducing your risk for stroke is to see what you are doing correctly and what you are doing wrong. Start by keeping a list of the vegetables you eat every day. Do this for at least a week.
-
Step 2
Analyze what you are eating. It is recommended that, in order to effectively reduce the risk of stroke, you should have five servings of vegetables per day. You will want to see how many vegetables you are eating and will need to analyze how many servings are missing.
-
Step 3
Start adding in the additional greens. After you have started to see what you have and what you are missing, you can start to add in additional green vegetables. You will especially want to add in the leafy greens, as these carry the largest amount of nutrients you need to reduce stroke, such as fibers, antioxidants and potassium.
-
Step 4
Monitor your new eating habits. As you go along, check to see how many greens you are eating and how frequently you are adding them into your diet. From here, you can determine whether you need to increase or decrease your intake of vegetables and will be able to see whether you are improving with ways to help you to stop stroke from happening. Do this for at least a month so you can form the habit of eating right.
