How to hide red wine stains in carpet

  1. Step 1

Try to get the stain out of the carpet as soon as you notice it. There are some great spray stain removals out there that can remove almost any type of stain. Have a carpet stain removal spray handy at all times. Then you won't have to cry over spilled wine! Just spray the stain and it may disappear like magic.

  2. Step 2

Get your carpets professionally cleaned. For only a couple hundred dollars, you can get all the carpets in your home professionally steam-cleaned. Just point out the stains to your cleaner and they may be able to get them out in no time. The extra cost may be well worth it next time you have a dinner party and all your friends notice how sparkling clean your home is.

  3. Step 3

If all else fails, hide the stain. The first thing you should consider is the location of the stain in light of where the furniture in your room is. You may be able to move a couch or love seat over a few feet and completely cover that nasty little stain. Make sure you have some strong hands handy and you can experiment with rearranging the furniture. Who knows? You may appreciate the change.

  4. Step 4

If moving the furniture is not an option, think about getting a nice rug to cover the stain. Your local furniture store may have something that will not only cover the stain but also brighten the room. A classy Persian rug or a trendy art deco rug may be all you need to make your room spectacular and stain-free.

  5. Step 5

Try to prevent stains by serving a less threatening beverage at your next dinner party. Why not serve white wine or beer instead of red wine? That way, if one of your guests gets a little inebriated and loses his drink, you will not pay the price. Save your carpets and keep your friends.
