Maybe you only wear bow ties for special occasions, like a wedding or black tie event. Or, maybe you are one of the special few who wear a bow tie along with a silk pocket square to showcase your dapper side.In any event, the time will come when that tie will become blotched and stained. Here's what to do when your bow tie becomes tarnished.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ever Blum Cosmetic Stain Cleaner
  • Shout Wipes
  1. Step 1

No matter what the stain was (food, make-up, cocktails, motor oil, or cooking grease.), don't use water to remove stain. Dab with a clean paper towel or rag instead.

  2. Step 2

When you've removed as much of the stain as you can, dab a little Ever Blum on the spot with a clean rag or paper towel. Ever Blum used to only be available to professional dry cleaners; now you can order it online at www.superkleendirect.com or on ebay. It's about $10 a can.

  3. Step 3

Try Shout wipes, as an alternative.

  4. Step 4

Let it air dry. For stubborn spots, take it to a professional dry cleaner.
