Located in the Northeast corner of Arkansas, Fort Smith State Park near Fort Smith, Arkansas has returned. It was relocated in 2002 because Lake Fort Smith was enlarged in order to provide more water storage for that region. When the lake was enlarged, the old state park, located below the lake was closed. The new lake was merged with Lake Shepherd Springs. The new park, on the western side of the lake is open now with a grand opening scheduled for June 2008. Let's see what's in the new Park to enjoy.
Enjoy tent or RV camping at two separate campgrounds, each with a woods view. Fifty amp electrical hookup, showers, dump stations, water and showers are available at each site.
2
