Step 1
Schedule at least one day a week off. I just started doing this about two months ago, and I can honestly say you'd be surprised how much it helps to take that one day off.
-
Step 2
Write on a variety of different topics for clients. In other words, when you began your hunt for freelance writing jobs, you could choose one client looking for content related to gardening (or whatever your specialty) and another client looking for content related to pets, the next client for content related to blogging and so on.
-
Step 3
Take a break when you feel a writer burnout coming on ... or when you're experiencing one. During this break, catch up on housework, take a walk or do anything that does not relate to writing.
-
Step 4
Change topics if you're getting blocked on the one you're currently working on. Just set your current topic aside and return to it later. Sometimes the change will help stop the writer burnout before it gets too bad.
