The Vampire is a relatively modern cocktail that gets its name from the deep red color of the beverage. It is a sweet, easy-to-drink cocktail that is perfect for those who don't like the taste of alcohol or are new to drinking. It is also, as the name would suggest, a perfect theme drink for a Halloween party. Here's how to make a Vampire cocktail.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 oz. vanilla-flavored vodka
  • 9 oz. lemon-lime soda
  • 1 oz. grenadine
  • 1 maraschino cherry (optional garnish)
  • Ice
  • Pint glass

    Making a Vampire Cocktail

  1. Step 1

Fill the pint glass 1/3 full of ice. Add the vanilla-flavored vodka, lemon-lime soda and grenadine.

  2. Step 2

Stir to combine the ingredients thoroughly, making sure that the red color of the grenadine spreads uniformly throughout the entire pint glass.

  3. Step 3

Garnish by adding a maraschino cherry, if desired.

  4. Step 4

    Serve immediately.

Tips & Warnings
  • One other popular recipe for the Vampire calls for 1 oz. of vanilla-flavored vodka and 1 oz. of coconut-flavored rum. This variation has a slightly more tropical taste.
  • If your Vampire cocktail isn't blood-red, simply add more grenadine and stir until you reach the desired redness. Be careful, though, because grenadine is extremely sweet and adding too much may make your Vampire teeth fall out at the end of the night.
  • Always drink responsibly and in moderation.
  • Never drink and drive.
