Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- internet access
- Myspace Account
- List of Friends Names
- Free Time
-
Step 1
The first step to reconnecting with friends on Myspace is to create an account. To do this, go to WWW.Myspace.com and sign up. Sign up is very easy and takes little time. However the more information you use the easier it will be for you to find your friends and also for them to find you. Then add a picture to your profile. This will help people know who you are and find you if they are looking for you. To do this click on the add photo link beside the picture box. From there you can easily add a pic to your profile.
-
Step 2
After signing up you can choose to create a cool profile or begin searching for friends. To create a profile you can go to google and type in Myspace Layouts. The search results will give you several layout sites where you can copy a html code and paste it onto your myspace page to create your cool profile. From your homepage go to the edit profile section (which is right beside the picture box)this link will take you to the editing page and you can paste the code into one of the boxes: for example you can paste it in to the box with the movies heading. Just be sure to remember where you pasted the layout because if you would like to change it, that will make it easier to find. If you want a simple profile skip this step and move on the step number 3.
-
Step 3
Before beginning your search, it can be helpful to create a list of the friends you would like to search for. Because you may find several friends at first, creating a list will help you remember who you wanted to find. Now if you went to school with the friends you are wanting to find you can search for them through the school you attended. You can first add your school to your page so you can click on the direct link to your school to find old friends. To add your school, go under edit profile on your homepage and click on the small link that says school. This will take you to the page to search for your school and to add it to your page. after adding it you can go back to your homepage by clicking on the home link at the top of the page and if you scroll down you will see the link for you school. Click on that link and begin to search for friends. You can search by grad year, current students, years attending, and alumni. You can also search by age groups so if you had friends that graduated in different years this can help you find all of your friends at once. When you find a friend through this method, click on their profile and you can send them a message through the message link or you can click add to friends if you are sure you have the right person. Some people must accept your add so you might want to send a message letting them know who you are so they will accept your add.
-
Step 4
Another search method is to click on the search link at the top of your homepage. This link can be found near the home link. you then can type in the name of the friend you are looking for. After hitting enter, the next page gives you the option to narrow your search by city or miles to a certain zip code. This can be helpful if you know where your friend might be living. Again if you find a friend add them to your friends and send them a message to let them know who you are.
-
Step 5
After you have found a few friends, you can look at each person's friends list and you might find some of the friends you are looking for. You can then click on their profile from there and add them to the your friends list and send them a message.
-
Step 6
Finally wait for your friend adds to be accepted and then once they are begin to message and comment your friends. You can catch up on daily events and also reminisce on the old days. Be sure to check your Myspace inbox daily to see if you have new messages from your old friends.
