Gelatin works magic, turning simple cream or fruit mixtures into smooth mousses or molded desserts. Always dissolve the gelatin completely during heating and never allow a gelatin mixture to boil. Let's find out how to make a yummy dessert with mangos.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cut in to bite size chunks
  • 1 can cream of coconut
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice

    Mango Mousse

  1. Step 1

    Sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water in a large saucepan. Let stand 5 minutes.

  2. Step 2

    Use a blender at medium speed and blend remaining ingredients until smooth.

  3. Step 3

    Heat gelatin mixture over low heat, striring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until completely dissolved. Do not boil.

  4. Step 4

    Add to mango mixture in blender and blend until combined.

  5. Step 5

    Pour mixture into eight 4 ounce custard cups. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours until well chilled.

Tips & Warnings
  • When serving, add a lime to the top of the mousse for presentation and color!
