How to Make Mango Mousse


Gelatin works magic, turning simple cream or fruit mixtures into smooth mousses or molded desserts. Always dissolve the gelatin completely during heating and never allow a gelatin mixture to boil. Let's find out how to make a yummy dessert with mangos.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and cut in to bite size chunks
  • 1 can cream of coconut
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice

Mango Mousse

  • Sprinkle gelatin over 1/4 cup cold water in a large saucepan. Let stand 5 minutes.

  • Use a blender at medium speed and blend remaining ingredients until smooth.

  • Heat gelatin mixture over low heat, striring constantly for 2 to 3 minutes until completely dissolved. Do not boil.

  • Add to mango mixture in blender and blend until combined.

  • Pour mixture into eight 4 ounce custard cups. Cover and refrigerate 4 hours until well chilled.

  • When serving, add a lime to the top of the mousse for presentation and color!
