Do you really want to build a site? Are you sure? There is something you have to realize about working on the internet. One hundred thousand or more sites go up each day here. To make a living you must stand out in the crowd. I am going to point out a few very serious examples for you to think about. I will not talk money, you just think about that addition while you read.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ability to read these suggestions
  • Common Knowledge to follow suggestions if they apply to your life.
  • Patience to stick with a decision that is profitable in the long run.
  • Determination to succeed.
  1. Step 1

To start, unless your site is unique, honest, trustworthy, relevant, and then appealing to both humans and search engines, you are wasting your time.

  2. Step 2

Next, is the main theme or topic of your web site. Is it about something you want to do the rest of your life and every day of it? Can you get up each day, and write about the same subject, topic, or category? If so, then you can specialize in something.

  3. Step 3

Then you need to find topics out there that are in demand, without competing with the “big guys”. Odds are very low for anyone just starting unless they “know” some body, or have a proven method and system.

  4. Step 4

After that you will begin thinking of Hosting. Not every host is the same, nor is every Server, or, or, or. The “Instant Result Over-night” sites are as useless as I have ever seen. Most of those will cost from $129.00 a year and up; if you want to upgrade and get rid of their porn (or whatever) ads, or add a little more web space to your site.

  5. Step 5

After building sites, for 15+ years, I now have three main “landing” sites that I have kept to house my work. I do stick with a particular system now because IT WORKS! Learn more in the resource link.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you find a reputable company
  • Make sure they use an easy site build it system.
  • Don't quit your day job if you like it, you could write about that too.
  • See Free Masters Course at resource link.
  • Don't spend over $300.00 for a website for an entire year, including all SEO tools and site building tools.
  • Don't go into site building expecting a huge profit right away.

on 10/9/2008 Having a website in business is no longer optional. Often times in researching products or services, I will completely pass over the companies with no info online because it's not as convenient. The other important aspect is that the website be QUALITY...companies also lose a lot of my business if their website is crappy...why am I going to buy product X from you if this is the display of quality that you are first presenting me with?

Good Tips.
