Most airlines will now charge you for each piece of luggage you check-on. Here are few tips to avoid paying for your check-on luggage the next time you fly.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • siutcase
  • airport
Step1
Remember you are allowed one piece of luggage for carry-on. If you have two pieces, use one as your personal bag and the other as your carry-on.
Step2
If you have a large piece(too big for a carry-on), print your boarding pass from home or check in at the kiosk and continue to the plane. When you get to the plane, the steward will take the large piece from you, give you a claim ticket and put it on for free in the luggage area of the plane.
Step3
If the overhead bins are full, and you have an extra piece of luggage, the steward will take your luggage from you, give you a claim ticket and put it on for free in the luggage area of the plane. So if you are trying to avoid paying the fee for the extra luggage, wait until the overhead bin is full by being one of the last passengers on the plane.

on 6/24/2008 This is very insightful sheno. Obviously, kayasluv seems a bit insecure. My only recommendation kayasluv is you get a job where you don't have to defend yourself so much. You make abundantly clear the reason why this industry is failing . . . poor customer relations and mean spirited people.

on 6/21/2008 Exactly what do you attend to kayasluv? I fly about once a week and the only attendance or customer service I get at the airport comes from the valet attendant. You are stewards and nothing more than overpaid stewards at that. Maybe the airlines should cut your inflated salaries instead of nickel and diming us. Last I checked stewards get paid more than professional teachers and I can assure you it takes a lot more training to educate a child than to educate a passenger on how to insert one end of the buckle into another. Quit complaining about your "title" and do something proactive to help your company creatively reduce costs not at the expense of your loyal customers who allow you to retain your employment and coveted title of attendant.

on 6/21/2008 Start a Revolt !Don't fly airlines that charge extra ! Only fly airlines that don't charge extra. Happily give them our business and see how fast A/A and the others rescind the additional charges when their flights are at 30% occupancy . It will be worth the slight inconvenience to Stop their Nickle and Dime strategy !

on 6/21/2008 For one - we are flight attendants not stewards and for 2 - the 2nd step is false information.
If your bag is too large - security is going to stop you and tell you that you will need to check it. If it is too large - how is it going to fit through the xray machine? This whole think is a complete mess and is really going to cause a lot of hassle for not only TSA - but the flight attendants , agents working the gate and ground crew.
