Things You'll Need:

  • Valid home address and phone number
  1. Step 1

Go to aol.com in a new browser window and select "Sign up" from the mail window on the top right corner of the screen. You will be taken to the AOL mail application screen. From here, click the "Get a free screen name button."

  2. Step 2

Fill out the application form fields with your first and last name and desired e-mail address. To ensure a quick sign-up, make sure to check the availability of your unique identifier. 4. Step 4

Re-type the letters from the Image Challenge window into the form field below it.

  5. Step 5

Agree to the AOL Terms and Conditions and click submit. If you've entered in all of the necessary information, you should receive a message confirming that your email address has been created. You can now use your unique identifier to access other free AOL applications including AOL Instant Messenger and myAOL, your personal AOL homepage.
