Stitching corners of a bag is as easy as 1, 2, 3. With a little cutting, some stitches and trimming you to can have nice corners. Just follow these steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Cut out a square from the bottom corners of your fabric. The square can be as small or as large as you like. I cut out 2 inches from each side to make my square, because it gives a decent size bottom. Sew the pieces together along the sides and bottom with the wrong side of the fabric facing out.

  2. Step 2

Grab one side edge and match it to the bottom to form a flat top triangle. The two ends will be flat against each other, right sides touching. Stitch across the triangle edge about 1.5" to 1" above the free edge of the fabric. Trim the excess off.

  3. Step 3

The bottom should look like an inside-out bag. Turn it right-side out and you've got the corners of the bag stitched.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always give yourself an extra inch of fabric to cover the space for the stitching.
