How to Play The "Chain Murder" Game in Improv
Guessing games are among the most popular improv games. “Chain Murder”, also known as LCD (Location, Career, Death) or LOW (Location, Occupation, Weapon), is an improv guessing game which requires good physical comedy skills and quick thinking. It is similar to the kid's game telephone, as the humor comes from misunderstanding. It is good for a group of 4-6 performers.

Start with one player (Player 1) onstage and all of the other players off. The player asks the audience to suggest a location, an occupation, and an object.
-
2
Player 2 enters and the two players perform in gibberish, or nonsense language. The object is for the Player 1 to communicate the location to the Player 2.

-
3
When Player 2 thinks they know the location, they clap and spin around.
-
4
Player 1 then tries to communicate the occupation to Player 2. When Player 2 thinks they know it, they clap and spin around.
-
5
Player 1 then communicates the object to Player 2. When Player 2 thinks they know it, they pantomime murdering Player 1 with it. Player 1 "dies" and lays on the floor for the rest of the performance.
-
6
The next player comes onstage and they repeat steps 2-5. This continues until everyone has played.
-
7
When everyone has played, all of the players stand up and say what they think the location, occupation, and object were. These are usually far off from the actual answer, much to the amusement of the audience.

Tips & Warnings
To speed up the game, you can use a bell and ring it at a certain interval (i.e. 10 seconds or so) to tell the players to clap and spin around and move to the next step. This is especially recommended if you have a group of more than six performers.
