How to Create a Ron Weasley Costume

Ron Weasley is a fictional character from the beloved Harry Potter series of books and movies. The character is now a part of pop culture, as the books have become extremely popular. If you have a little Harry Potter fan of your own, or if you're one yourself, making costumes of the characters for Halloween is a great idea. If you have a group, having each of you choose your own character makes for a really fun Halloween. Ron, Harry and the professors would create quite a stir in entering a room. • Gryffindor Harry Potter robe
• Gryffindor magic hat
• Bag of candy decorated as chocolate frogs

1. If you are a male and already have short, red hair, you have an advantage. That part of the costume is done. If you are like most us, you need to wear a wig. Around Halloween, finding a red wig is fairly easy and inexpensive. The goal is to have fun with the costume, not be a hundred percent accurate to the fiction!

2. Next, you want to start with getting a schoolboys' costume. This is for a magical school, though. You want to add whimsy to it!

3. Next, you want to complete the outfit by getting a Gryffindor Harry Potter robe if you possibly can. They are available for purchase at costume shops, online and even at retailers like K-Mart and Target around Halloween. They are so popular that you can even find them year-round at certain stores. If you call around in your area, you are likely to find something similar. It completes the look, and it adds a touch of authenticity. There is no mistaking Ron. If you are in a group, having identical robes are a must! If you all want to improvise, buy something with the logo of Harry Potter's school. You can affix this to robes that you all purchase in unison. The goal for a group is that you all have the school uniform if you are the students!

4. Add a wand to your costume. A magician cannot perform magic without the right tools. Get a pack of candy and decorate it like Chocolate Frogs. Choose what makes you love the Harry Potter books, and make sure to add that to your costume. There are as many ways to customize a Ron costume as there are people who love the Harry Potter books!

5. Make sure all the details are in place. Even make sure your shoes go with your costume. Ron can't be wearing designer sneakers with a school uniform. Make sure it all goes!
