      Log on to Meebo (see link in Resources below).

      Log in to one of the four different IM windows (AIM, Yahoo, Google Talk or MSN). If you do not have an account with any of them then you will want to choose one of the IM messenger providers and sign up for free. Then on Meebo, click on the “Sign up now!” button to the right and create an account.

      Import your friend's email address into Meebo to add buddies.

      Personalize your Meebo page by changing the skin (color of page), attach sound to outgoing or incoming IMs, allow emoticons to show in IMs that you send and keep track of your IM logs. You can also block users that are not on your buddy list. You can sign on as invisible so that you can do work without being bothered. Then if you need to IM someone you can do so and still remain invisible.

      Double click on one of your buddies' screen name in the buddy box to begin talking. An IM box will appear. The first icon on the top of this box is a blue circle with the letter “i”. By clicking on this button you can view this buddy's profile. The second icon is a camera and is used for video and or audio chat. You need a web cam to use this feature. The third icon, represented by a paper and pencil, is to view any chat logs that you have previously saved. Next you can send a file to your buddy by clicking on the icon with the green arrow. You can chat with a group by clicking on the smiley faces icon. The last icon at the top of this buddy box is a rocket. When this icon is clicked, you can play games with your buddies.
